It's my Birthday and I'll cry if I want to!

Yes, today I turn 28 (as you can almost see by the numbers made by candles on my cake). I'm not feeling too old yet, just tired, but that's part of being a Mom. Jeremy made my cake last night and couldn't wait to eat it, so we started the celebration early. In a little bit we are going out to dinner at Outback Steakhouse, yummy! Ava & I cruised the Mall today and picked up our family pics we took last week. I'll have to scan them on the computer and post them. They got some great shots of Ava. Our family pic for Christmas cards is okay, nothing spectacular. Anyway, I got money early from Jeremy for my birthday and have been buying new clothes for the last week or so, got some cute stuff. But I cannot find ANY good skirts for church, or dresses. All my skirts are older and there is nothing out there, maybe because its winter, I don't know. Its a bummer.

So guess what my new callings in church are now??? Nursery leader!!!! And Enrichment committee member. Could not be happier about Nursery, since Ava is a handful in class and we end up in the hall or going home early. So she now gets to go to Nursery (5 months early) and she loves it. It's been fun the last couple sundays, just playing w/ the little ones. My other calling is also keeping me busy right now, we just did our Super Saturday, which I had to help out w/ all day w/ Ava in tow! And we have a RS dinner to plan and do in 2 weeks. Oh well, I'll try to be as much help as I can.

Here are some funny pics of Ava and Daddy. She was standing on the computer chair and started brushing Jeremy's hair. But she'd grab a big handful of his hair to hold on and brush w/ the other hand. It was cute!

Almost forgot, Ava is starting to take some steps! She'll walk back and forth between us and other objects, soon enough she'll be running around and all will be chaotic!

And the Father of the Year Award goes to.......

NOT JEREMY! Not that he's a bad dad, he's actually a great one, but not always too smart! We have some magnets on our frigde of a Korean Bride and Groom which Jeremy lets Ava play with, even though I said he shouldn't cause she might bite off the small magnet on the back. But does he listen to me......oh no, cause I don't no any better. So yesterday he is off of work and realizes the Groom is missing his magnet, so he searches the area and finds nothing. Somehow responsiblitly kicks in and he calls the Pediatrician for advice. They say it must of gone down if she doesn't seem to be chocking on it and to watch for it to pass through. I have to ask the Daycare lady to check her poopy diapers today and look for it, sorry Betsy! Lo and behold, out comes a small magnet! Poor Jeremy is feeling bad about this, maybe he'll listen to my super-safety freak self next time...........and Ava is well and happy as usual, thats all that matter!!!

Jeremy, Terry & Joe Ava

We had company this past week, Jeremy's parents and siblings came to Portland. They were all excited to see Ava, not us so much (kidding, but she is more fun!). My Dad had given us a couple weekends w/ his Timeshare for Christmas gifts and we finally got to use them this weekend. We went to Seaside, OR which is right on the coast, beach front property. Our rooms were awesome and we had a great time playing games, shopping, eating, relaxing, etc.... Too much driving though! Like usual OR fashion, it rained most the time and got quite windy as well.

Jer's two siblings and his Dad & Mom, his sister's husband wasn't able to come, he missed out on a fun trip!

Ava went on her first Carousel ride and loved it! Hard to get pics while its moving around, I did get a short video, though it won't let me post those on here. We were happy to have them come visit, Ava got lots of fun play time w/ them and lots of gifts too, thanks! Now if we could get back to her regular sleeping schedule.......life will be good!

Happy, Happy Halloween!

Okay, I know when I do post it normally includes a ton of pictures, sorry! But guess its mainly for the family who wants to see what she is up to. Ava was the cutest little lady bug!!!! Somehow the wings didn't even bother her, nor the dress, I was for sure she'd be ripping at it. And we made it most the night w/ the bows in place, good job Ava.

That is me, the Punk Rock/Goth Freak, I just threw whatever I had together. Downtown Gresham (city we live in) has Trick-or-Treating in the little shops there for the kids. Jeremy delivers mail down here, so they all wanted to see Ava dressed up. So I brought her down after he got off work and we walked around to meet the people. Though Jeremy forgot he had his wife w/ him and only introduced Ava to his customers (I think he remebered me twice!). What a sweet husband, guess we know who is #1 girl is!!! I'm a little jealous...

A couple from church had a party w/ a bunch of other couples and young kids, they all looked so cute, but could not get them to look all at once. The Bear cub next to Ava is a girl born six weeks before Ava named Eva but pronounced Ava!!!

Our family shot, just lovely. So I was attempting to dress like me from the past (a little crazy) and Jeremy was being a nerd (just like his youth). I got him that great wig, which everyone took turns putting it on their babies and taking pictures. They had a 'Best Costume' prize and it came down to a 3-way tie between Jeremy, Ava and this 70's Track star. So we re-voted and Jeremy won! How lame, Ava was clearly the best there!!! But I think Jer got the sympothy vote cause he wasn't far off from his younger days as a nerd!!! haha It was a great Halloween though. And we came home just in time to get a total of 9 Trick-or-Treaters after 9pm. Too fun!

Fall Days!!!

Ava is Daddy's little helper w/ cleaning out the pumpkin. She was pulling stuff out and handing it to Jeremy, then she started putting the stuff back in when he was trying to finish cleaning it out. Funny little girl!

Ava loves to explore the backyard, Jeremy is a little less protective than I am and lets her crawl around all the leaves and bark chips. I go out, pick her up, and carry her around or let her walk w/ my help. Not ready for her to be crawling in the dirt yet!
