Oh Canada! (June/July 2012)

Apology first, this post has LOTS of pics!  We spent a week in Whistler, B.C. from the end of June and into the beginning of July.  In fact we spent July 4th there, not even in our own country!  That was weird.  But we didn't miss out on fireworks because July 1st is Canada Day and they had celebrations all day long and fireworks at night!  This trip was courtesy of my Dad and Stepmom.  They booked 3 awesome rooms at their timeshare up there and they ended up being next to eachother.  We split up the meals and cooked alot, so we didn't spend too much going out.  It turned out to be a really fun trip and the cousins had a blast together, and the grandkids had fun with their Grandparents!
We have the cool minivan, it has a built in DVD player!  So we squeezed them in together and they had a good trip watching movies for the long drive up.
 My Dad
This in Whistler Village, so gorgeous.  It's a cute little shopping/eating area.   And the Olympics took place here in 2010, so there was lots of cool things from that.
They had some pretty fun toys at the park in the Village, not like ones here for sure.  We went there at least 3 or 4 times that week.
 Very fun swing!
 Mya and Daddy chilling!
Showing her Canadian Love by licking it's flag!  But then she ripped it up,
not sure what to say about that.
Ava got some face painting and her own flag, she's ready for Canada Day!
Kael, Shanda, Liam, Kiera, and Brian- my brother and his family in front of the rings.
Grandma and Grandpa Aurich with their squirmy grandkids!
Shanda, Brian, Kiera and Darlene in front of some falls, can't remember their name!
 My cute Hubby and me
One day we drove back down to Vancouver, B.C. (2 hour drive) to go to the Aquarium.
It was a great Aquarium!  They even had dolphins that did tricks and jumps.  And gorgeous Buluga whales that splashed the audience.  And these cute little garden eels that just stuck in the sand.
This child was the hard one!  She is not into being in the stroller or following the way you go.  So there was lots of chasing her and lots of tears.  Eventually she crashed, thank goodness.
We went on a walk around Lost Lake, very beautiful area.
Ava, Kiera, Kael, Liam & Grandma having a snack.
Our view from the timeshare.  There is a lake down there.  And beautiful mountains all around.
Sorry for the bum shot of Jeremy & Ava!  They had fun playing in this freezing cold lake though.
We dared a canoe ride with all the kids.  Mya did pretty good just sitting between my legs, while Jeremy still expected me to paddle, thanks hun!  Was a gorgeous morning ride.
Jeremy working hard.
Jeremy, our canoe Captain!

Thanks again to Dad & Darlene for the great week, it was nice to all be together.
Just wish more of my siblings could have joined us also.

Trip to Minnesota (May 2012)

Here I am, doing a new blog post just a day after the last, amazing.  Making my way forward in time...we come to end of May with a trip to Minnesota.  Unfortunately we haven't been since Oct 2010, so we were due to see Jeremy's grandparents and friends who don't make it here for visits.
Here is Mya while we were visiting her Great-Grandma Frey.
She was standing on this air vent, letting her skirt blow around.  It was cute!
Ava relaxing with a distant cousin (well kind of cousin) and doing her makeup.
Grandparents wanted to take the girls to Chucky Cheese.  Mya LOVED riding next to him, hard to get her off.

And we can't go to MN without visiting the Mall of America.  We let the girls go on a couple rides and I got to do the balloons with them, fun.
 Carole & Lester- Jeremy's parents.
We then had a crazy, long adventure at the Rainforest Cafe!
The power went out right after ordering our food, then it came back on and I think they lost our order.  Then it went off again when Ava and Terry were in the bathroom, scared Ava to death.  After 1 1/2 hours we got food and the manager comped our whole meal, thank goodness!
Below is Aunt Terry & Mya
Great Grandma Frey with Ava, Mya and Jeremy
Mya and I playing on the grass behind their house.
 Chloe and Ava
Chloe is one of Jeremy's good friends daughter.  Last time we visited they played and went Trick or treating together.  And we've Skyped them once or twice.  Fun to have friends when we visit!
Jeremy, Joe, and Terry- the siblings!
Ava and Chloe went on this ride multiple times, that had so much fun that day.
Uncle Joe blowing some bubbles with the girls.
We went and watched Aunt Terry play some softball, though I think we were too much of a distraction.  She just wanted to come hang out with her nieces!
In all it was a great trip to see Jeremy's family and friends!  And we got to go on 2 dates while there, which was nice.  Somehow I don't have pics of Jeremy's other Grandparents, but it was good to see them also.

Next up....Canada!!!

Lost another one

So I know I haven't updated in FOREVER, so again I'm saying I'm going to get back on track.  We'll see how this goes!

I've been meaning to write this post for awhile....and not because I want pity or want everyone to feel bad for me.  But just to have it documented, since I don't write anything down elsewhere.

So here goes....

I found myself unexpectedly pregnant mid-March.  At first I was kind of in disbelief and not sure that I wanted it to be true.  We planned to start officially "trying" again in the summer.  But since getting pregnant has never been easy for us, we weren't protecting well.  Initially I was a bit worried because Mya would only be 2 years and 2 months old, Mya and Ava are almost 3 years apart and I think that worked out well for us.

Then of course I was beyond excited!  We told a few people early on, like my Mom, sister, and one of my brothers and his family.  And I think we told Jeremy's family as well.  I was starting to feel nauseous and slightly tired, but didn't throw up at all.  I thought things were going good.

I was bummed that I couldn't get in for my 1st Doctor's appointment until I was almost 10 weeks along.  Last time she had chosen to put me on progesterone after my 1st appt because of my 1st miscarriage.  But I didn't think it was that necessary this time.

I was all excited to go to my appt and since we hadn't told Ava yet (didn't want her telling everyone!), took her along to see the baby on the ultrasound.  When we went in to see the Tech, she started the ultrasound on my stomach, but couldn't see much.  She was thinking maybe I wasn't that far along.  Than she did a vaginal one and we saw this little sac, with maybe the tiniest little stubs for arms and legs.  My heart sank.  I knew what a fetus should look like at 10 weeks and this was not even 6 weeks of growth.  The Tech didn't say a word, not a WORD!  I think she sensed I already knew.  Ava thought we were just looking at my tummy, so good news there.  I went and saw my doc and she came in saying it wasn't good.  Thankfully I hooked Ava up with earphones to my Kindle, cause I just started bawling.  She tried to give me hope that maybe I got pregnant later than I thought, but I knew better.  So she told me to come back in 2 weeks if I hadn't miscarried yet.

Here is were it gets gross....pass on by if you want!

So I had some cramps and spotting in those two weeks but not much.  I went in for my appt on a Friday morning (May 4th).  The ultrasound still showed the sac, but the fetus was disintegrating.  She gave me meds to induce a miscarriage, which I planned to do the next day.  I had my first hair appt with a lady up the street that afternoon.  Well before I went in I started to have bad cramps, but for whatever reason didn't think anything of it.  While I was getting my hair colored and cut, the cramps became PAINFUL, like labor pains!  Towards the end I new it was about to happen.  I was so embarrassed to say a thing, until I could feel the sac coming out.  I told her what was about to happen and how sorry I was.  I went to stand up and gushed blood ALL over the chair and floor.  I mean TONS of blood.  She was SOOO sweet about the whole thing.  I called Jeremy (thank goodness he took the day off!) and he came with towels and new clothes.  She left the room (she has a salon in her garage, so it was just us) and we cleaned up as best as we could.  I went home and proceeded to lose a ton more blood.  Eventually I got dizzy and called my doctor to see what to do.  She said I could go to the ER if I felt I needed to.  I decided to wait and try some food.  By as I ate, I started to black out and just laid myself on the floor.  Jeremy freaked out and started putting shoes on kids to go to the ER.  I told him to wait and it passed after a few minutes.  While this was going on Jeremy was cooking dinner because we had the Sister missionaries coming over for dinner, go figure!  They came and I sat on the couch while they ate.  They were so sweet and helped do the dishes.  Later Brother Brown came over and helped Jeremy give me a blessing.  By the next day I was better, but still weak.  My hair lady stopped by the next day with a card and flowers, she was so kind to me on the most embarressing day of my life.

After finding out about losing the baby, I grieved, but felt okay with it.  Made me feel extremely blessed for the 2 beautiful girls I have already and if that's all I ever get, then that will be enough!  We are still hoping for one more though!  I know God has a plan for us and for that baby.  Having lost 2 now, I hope to never have to lose another.  But like I said, I didn't write this for pity.  I do appreciate all the sweet words and love shown to us during that time, and some thoughtful gifts.

We have the best family and friends!
