Ava's FAVORITE animal at the Zoo...I think I've posted that before, like the last time went.

But this is all she wanted to see, and later in the day she was sure we had missed it and wanted to go back. Not a chance girl!

We had Jeremy's parent here for a visit for 6 days. We kept busy and wore us all out. The girls love having Grandparents to play and spoil them. I think Mya grew quite found of Grandpa Frey. Ava was won over by the candy and Ice Cream they bought here. They wanted to get the girls something, so we went shopping and picked out matching outfits for the girls. I forgot to take a pic of them together wearing it, but it's the one Mya is wearing on July 4th. We are only a few weeks away from a 2 week trip to Southern Cali, Las Vegas, Arizona, UT & ID. I'm so not ready!!! But it's going to be fun and exhausting. I'm so excited to see friends that I haven't seen in awhile and of course all my family along the way!!!! :) And best of all....sitting on the Beach, playing in the sand and riding some waves on the Boogie Board. Woohoo!

(And just for my record....Mya is now 10 months old, crawling all over, and pulling herself up on everything. She recently started creeping along furniture as well. Her 1st tooth-O- came in at 9 3/4 months old. P- is just about to break the skin. She is still so happy and content. Except when Ava drags her around and attempts to pick her up. She's starting to fight back and grunts/ or screams at Ava when she wants to be left alone. Her and Ava have screaming matches all the time...just for the fun of it and it's pretty dang funny, though deafening. She is loving all sorts of finger foods now. Ava is still the same...sassy, disagreeable, cute, loud, ACTIVE, & crazy. But we love them!)

Fun, EASY Craft! And other cute pics!

I was blog surfing the other day, just snooping on friends of family members blogs and I landed on a totally fun craft/sewing blog. This lady had a tutorial on how to make cute baby/toddler leggings and it looked so easy, then I thought to myself how I wish I would've found this sooner before I spent $8 plus shipping on a black pair to go with Mya's tutu.

Above if the finished product...but I later made one in just plain white also, after my awesome hubby took apart my sewing machine because I jammed it and then attempted to break it as well.
If any of you have a sewing machine and would like to attempt these,
here is how you do it.
1. Buy some super cute knee-high women's socks (found each pair for $2.50 @ Target)
2. Cut it like I did above, then throw out the heal part and toe part.
3. Fold the remaining foot part in half, you want the inside to remain folded inside.
4. Slide it over the long part of the sock, so that the ends match up all together (the ends that were all cut on). Pin it in place...like the pic below.

5. Sew on the inside of the sock end using a zig-zag sticth.
6. Flip it over and you've got a legging! Takes like 10 minutes to make one pair...
that is my kind of easy!

And yes...I said crawl. My baby started crawling a week after turning 9 months, about the same EXACT time Ava did...how weird is that? And she's on track to get her 1st tooth about the same time Ava did.

Mya's 9 month stats:

19lb 13oz= 66%

28 1/2 inches=79%

Dr was worried about her motor skills and language...but I'm not the least concerned. She started crawling the day after the appt and babbling "mama" over and over again. She keeps trying to pull her self up on things, but only gets half way up. She loves to scoot herself all over the hardwood floor and get into whatever she can. We finally gave up trying to swaddle her and that's been a challenge. But found that she likes to sleep on her belly and stays asleep pretty good that way. Still takes 3 or 4 naps a day. We are close to sleeping through the night again, just re-learning after giving up the swaddling. And we are slowly starting to add in other foods. Apparently I forgot that she can't eat pureed veg/fruits forever, even if it is easier. I just don't want her to grow up...I'm losing my baby already!!! :(

Ava stole her cousin Kael from his sister to dance with. I have awesome video of these two. Ava was totally leading the way and making him spin her over and over, it was pretty dang good dancing. Didn't realize we'd taught her anything.

Crazy life update!

I was going to include some adorable pics of the girls (that my FB buddies have already seen), but the computer was taking FOREVER to load them for some reason. So they'll have to wait till another day. For now, I'll just do an update...
CAR: Insurance worked fast and got us a check on Friday. We were surprised they paid us about $4k for our car. But now we have to find something cheap and reliable... not going well. Jeremy went and looked at 4 cars yesterday with no luck. Some were too sketchy, the people, not the cars. So the hunt continues on tomorrow, not a fun Memorial weekend.
PAIN: Jeremy had 4 wisdom teeth pulled on Friday morning, no fun. But he did great. I made him take 2 pain pills that day. And of course he refused any the next and did okay. He hasn't said much about pain today either, just not talking much and still on semi-soft foods.
WEDDING: My sister's big day 6 days away!!!!! It's going to be awesome. I'm going to try not to cry through the whole thing, but I'm so dang excited for her. And today I finally finished dresses for Ava and my niece. They are cute, but only at a distance, too many small errors. I will NEVER take on a project like that again until I'm pro, and that would only come through classes, (or as Jeremy states...more practice...what does he know?) And I'm having fun planning her Bridal Shower, 1st one I've ever done, woohoo!
CHURCH: Ummm...they released me from being the RS Activities Coordinator (or whatever it is called) and put me in as RS 2nd Counselor!!!! Are they crazy??? Or am I for saying yes??? People are so nice though, just about EVERY one told me how great I'd be. Oh well, it's a learning/growing experience, I'm sure I'll be the better for it.
GIRLS: Mya is sooo close to crawling!!! She keeps getting on her knees from a sitting position and trying to go forward. Today though when she'd be on her tummy she'd start violently rocking back and forth trying to move, it was hilarious. She's kind of getting whiny when she's playing on the floor, I think it's cause she's ready to move and is just plain frustrated. Soon enough girl. As for Ava...when does it get better people??? She is just a challenge. Love her to death, but she tests EVERY boundary and pushes every last button I have. I don't like being a parent that yells, but I get so mad sometimes that is all I can do. It scares me to think that I'll have to go through this with Mya, but I also like to believe that each kid is different and maybe it won't be as bad. 8 pm could not come soon enough most days!!!!

I think that is our updates...June brings High Adventure for Jeremy (a week with him gone, blah) and Jer's parents at the end of the month. Good times.

Goodbye, so long!!!

So over the weekend someone decided to take our beloved car of 7 years from our driveway. We were in a little shock to not find it there Saturday morning, since we usually park it in the garage. But Jeremy's side of the garage was occupied by a handcart, built for a Pioneer trek for the youth at church. We had been trying to contact the guy in charge for over a week to come pick it up, so I blame the church! Kidding, that would be get struck to hell. But Jeremy has always been paranoid about leaving our cars in the driveway at night, ever since we got a garage anyways. The other part of the story happened Friday around 5:30pm, when Jeremy got in his car where it was parked at the light-rail station (he rides that in to downtown Portland for work). He felt like his seat was moved back and adjusted differently, but saw that nothing was missing, so blew it off....hmmmm..

Thankfully we didn't have to wait forever to find out about it...Jeremy got a call this morning...car has been found and has been burned. So I pick him up and we go get a release form from the Sheriff's office, then head out to the towing yard.

Ummm, WOW! I thought maybe just a little burned inside, but not TORCHED!

It was found on some rural farming street, they probably dropped it off, took off the wheels and then torched it and fled. Nice!

Maybe we shouldn't share so much with Ava, I believe she now thinks there are TONS of bad guys out there. She had a good cry after I told her the bad guys burned our car. Her main concern was over her new booster seat and some books/toys that were left. Of course Jeremy had to tell her that and remind her not leaving her stuff in our cars, nice Dad!

Now we wait for our insurance to do their thing and see what we can get. Being that it's 13 years old, who knows. But Nissan's are great cars and hold value pretty well. And they'll cover the car seats that we lost. Not thrilled about having to find another car. Jeremy hardly drives anyways, just to the light rail station and a couple times a week to tax-payers offices. So he's not getting anything fancy and new. That's life, right? People can be so dumb and retarded, but that's not going to change anytime soon!

I seem to always be a week or more behind in posting...so here is what went on last weekend.

Aunt Terry came to visit!!!

So we were busy all weekend doing lots of fun things.

One such stop was Ava's first bowling trip...she loved the first game and did not want anything to do with the second one.

Ava LOVES her Aunt! Which kind of gave me a break from her for the weekend, since she just wanted to follow her around and talk to her all the time. They even got to be roommates and share Ava's room. Terry discovered how when you have kids you never get to pee alone! So glad she could come and spend a few days with us. They also went to the Zoo on thursday, but I was working and no pictures were taken. Thanks for the visit Terry!

'TOFW' Weekend!!!

For my Mom's Birthday, us ladies went to the Time Out For Women Conference.

Those that don't know...it's a big Conference with LDS speakers (who are mostly authors of LDS type books) and LDS musical peformers. It's meant to be uplifting, spiritually and emotionaly, and it was awesome!!! Glad I could go with my favorite gals, though if my Sister was there it would have been even better. We'll have to go back next time around, it's worth it!

Of course we had to celebrate her Birthday with some cake!!
