On the move!

I was noticing a lack of partially nude pics of Mya, so I had to get some, especially to capture

the chub she's developing. I'm pretty sure in this past week alone she's gained at least a pound.

She is growing fast!

And she is also on the move. At 5 1/2 months she now rolls from her tummy to her back and when on her back, she rolls to the side. She hates her tummy, so I'm sure she doesn't want to roll all the way over yet. But she is wiggly. She is never in the same place I put her anymore.

And she's finally found her feet, so cute!

I know I've said that a million times, but it's so true and she makes me smile all day.

Night time is a completely different story. Help! She is waking 4-6 times a night and I just replace her binkie and she's out again, but she just keeps waking. Sometimes I'll feed her at 4 am just to get some needed sleep, but I always feed her at 10pm and I know she can make it the whole night. Any advice? I know I need to let her cry it out a little more, but I hate to wake Ava, she has her own sleep issues.

A weekend of celebrations!!!

This little man turned 1 years old this past week! My nephew is such a little stud muffin. And boy did he love his cake. (The pics are all out of order, sorry)

Her and Ava had a fun weekend playing, though they had some disagreements as well. Kiera kept telling Ava she was her Best Friend, so sweet.

Daddy loving on Mya! She's already a Daddy's girl. It's hard to feed her with him around, cause she'll hear his voice and turn his way and give him a big smile, then continue eating. This can happen several times though. She is so dang sweet and such a happy little clam!

I was itching to do more crafts this past week. So after looking on etsy.com and seeing some cute dresses, I looked up online how to make them (they are called Pillowcase dresses, though I didn't use pillowcases). After making one for Ava in 1 1/2 hours, I decided Mya and cousin Kiera needed one so they could all match at church on Sunday. The 2nd and 3rd one only took an hour each, after figuring out what I did wrong the 1st time. They all looked so cute in them!

Here is my model after making her dress. She decided to stay in it all that day, even though it was a bit chilly, and my house is always chilly.

And the other celebration that took place was that Jeremy & I celebrated 11 years together on Saturday! Since we were up in WA, my brother & SIL & Mom (for part of the night) babysat our girls. We went and saw the movie, "The Dilema", which was funny & crazy. Then went to The Melting Pot for dinner. Our reservation was for 7:45pm and we finished up at 10:50pm! That was the LONGEST dinner we've ever been to. And since it was just us and we talk all the time, we ran out of things to talk about. And we were so dang tired, I almost fell asleep! But it was yummy and a new experience for us, we've never been there. It's a fondue resturant, for those that don't know. But one of the pricest places we've ever been! So probably the last time we'll go in quite awhile. Jeremy got me a card that said "For your anniversary, how does a cruise to the caribbean sound?" Then you open it up and it makes the big cruise ship horn noise! Jerk! I could seriously use a REAL ONE right about now. Maybe next year....Love you honey!

The end of January!

Daddy stuck a tattoo on Ava's tummy, now she'll be flashing it off to everyone. Mya is 5 months today, and the chunky thighs are starting to form. Too bad she is covering them up though.

This past Saturday we headed over to Multnomah Falls for some good hiking. I haven't hiked up to the top in forever. It's over a mile up and all switchbacks...it gets you breathing! I thought Ava would do fine with all her energy, but she kept saying her legs were tired too. So we swithed off carrying her and did alot of sloooowww walking. But we made it!

At the top, Ava had a blast throwing rocks in the water. Another family came by us and she started playing with there little boy. We found out he was also 3 and also very tall for his age (glad there are others). Then we found out they were from UT and are LDS. We got there number and will be calling them up to have the kids play one of these days.

Mya @ 5 months:

-Just started veggies on the 28th, not sure about the peas, but ate what I gave her.

-Starting to scream/squeal quite loudly, and it's all because she's happy, not sad. Just a minute ago she was getting really loud and Ava was trying to watch Toy Story. So Ava went and got Mya's binkie and plugged it in!

-Not back to sleeping through the night yet, poor Mom. :( Though she did once last week. Not sure what to do there, since I don't want her to wake Ava as well, so I just go in and re-plug binkie and she's back to sleep.

-Still no rolling over, then again we need to do more tummy time.

-I think in the last 2 weeks she's had a crazy growth spurt, she just seems so much bigger all of a sudden and her 3-6 month clothes aren't so big anymore.

-She's got some hair growing in her bald spot in the back, she may be another blondie with blue eyes. And she's just plain adorable!

And I have some news to report: I last a whole month with no MT DEW!!! That was my 1st of many goals/resolutions for 2011. I want to cut out soda all together, but Mt Dew is really my weakness. I even got Jeremy to go the month without as well, though he wants some for Super Bowl. I did have an orange soda last week, bad me. I'm still deciding what February's goal will be...I'm thinking of cutting out eating after 8 pm and also exercising at least 3 times a week to start. It's all about slow and steady changes to become a healthier me!

Bring on the food! (and some crafts)

Jeremy has been so excited to try solid foods with Mya, not sure why, I'm not too anxious for her to grow up or to have to feed her 3 seperate meals and breastfed with it! I came home from getting my haircut to find this little monster smacking on oatmeal. The faces she made where awesome and she kept gagging on it too. Got some good video!

Why oatmeal Daddy? The next day she seemed to take to the rice a little better.

Pure torture!

So I have this jewelry box where I just put my necklaces in, but then they end up all tangled together in one giant clump. My sister looked online for some ideas and I realized how easy it would be just to make something cut to hang them on. I made each of the girls one for their pretty bracelets (thanks to Aunt Shanda) and play jewelry.


They turned out pretty cute. And my nice hubby cute some wood for me and even made the edges look all good, then even sanded them for me after I gave him a look that said "that's part of your job honey." I sooo miss crafting, something I haven't been able to juggle much with having two little kiddos and no room to do it. Fun stuff.

I'm not the greatest Mom when it comes to do tummy time,

but thankfully I think my daycare lady does it.

But I put her down the other day and instead of burying her head in the blanket,

she raised it up and looked around for a good few minutes before getting all pissed off.

It's amazing the amount of spit-up that comes out of this baby,

mine and her shirts are always wet!

All beautiful for her 2nd Sunday in Primary.

Of course my poor girl is over a head taller than all the other 3 year old.

And for that matter,

quite a few of the 4 and 5 year olds!

So far she is loving it, it'll be fun to hear her sing all the new songs she learns.

Miss Mya turned 4 months on the 31st and today was her check-up appt.

The stats: 15lb 78%

25 1/4 inches 83%

16 1/2 inch head 74%

Above average child, but not the beast that Ava was, who was sitting at 20lb @ 4 months old. It's so nice to have a "smaller" child, that way clothes will last longer!

Mya is such a sweet baby, she is so happy to just lay on the floor and watch the world around her. She is quite vocal with all her gibberish and squealing. It appears she'll also be a blue-eyed girl like her sister. Not sure about the hair yet, it's thinning out but not yet growing back in. She smiles easily when we talk to her and the minute she gets fussy, we know it's naptime. Her nap schedule is all over the place, but we get a few good ones in there. Since she was 2 months old she "normally" has been sleeping through the night. But of course the nights I need good sleep for work the next day is when she decides to wake a few times. Daddy got her to giggle for the first time the week before Christmas. He was munching on chips and she thought it was a funny noise or something. LOVE her giggles. She finally shared some with me the other night also. We are just so dang thankful she came to our family, it was about this time last year that we found out we were pregnant and oh what a shock that was! We love our beautiful girls.

Oh Christmas time, oh Christmas time!

I'm so behind on the past 2 weeks, not that anything that spectacular has occured, well except CHRISTMAS!

But the week before, Ava work up tuesday at 1 am and lost her stomach contents many times. Daddy got to stay home tues & wed to watch her, no way was I going to let that spread to others. But Daddy came down sick Wed. night, followed by me Thursday morning. Thankfully he bounced back fast and took care of all of us. It totally wiped me out until about Monday, I was just weak and depleted. Mya has some irregular bowels and screamed bloody murder Monday night for about an hour, poor girl. Now Ava and I have a chest cough we are getting over. Hate the sickness that comes with this season. But let's move on to happier times.

We went to WA on Christmas Eve. Mya got to meet her Uncle Andrew, which was priceless. He picked her up and she just stared at him in shock. Then she gave him the biggest pouty lip ever, my mom has the pics, I need them!

Christmas morning: Ava runs to the presents, finds a little chair and gets all excited about it. Then I coax her to the big present, a kid's kitchen. She loved it. Then she ripped through all her presents in record time, there was no slowing her down. We had to guard our own gifts from her. It was a great time.

Bill and the Elders. My parents have the missionaries from our church living with them right now. Ava has a MAJOR crush on them! One day we had to keep her from going into her room and following them everywhere. They'd go in the kitchen, she'd stand by the fridge and just stare them down. They'd sit on the couch, she'd go sit between them. Man, she's only 3 and already crushing on boys, we're in trouble!

I feel bad for her. She worked hard all weekend and I would have normally helped out a ton more, but I could barely stand for 30 seconds. We love you Mom!

Andy dared to come meet us all on Christmas, he lives in Utah. He's in school to be a Pharmacist, hence the shirt! It appears we didn't scare him off yet, or at least I haven't heard so far. We enjoyed getting to know him and trying to embarass Melissa.

And that was our weekend, it turned out great and we loved being with Family for Christmas.
